Nonprofit Service Month
A Proclamation by the
Governor
WHEREAS, we search for good in our communities and
hope for our future while living in a world of constant challenges;
and
WHEREAS, through creativity and commitment, nonprofit
organizations strengthen communities and improve everyday life; and
WHEREAS, thousands of nonprofit organizations of
every size and description provide countless needed services and acts
of kindness throughout our state; and
WHEREAS, working with and through nonprofit
organizations, Washingtonians fulfill critical needs, enrich
education, and demonstrate the value of individual contributions on a
local and global scale; and
WHEREAS, each year in Washington, our citizens
generously donate their time and money to assist nonprofit
organizations in pursuing their valuable missions;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gary Locke, Governor of the state
of Washington, do hereby declare April 2004 as
Nonprofit Service Month
in Washington State, and I urge all citizens to join me in
this special observance.
